Filing is underway for three city and two school board positions for the election to be held in Dublin during the May 6 general election. Deadline to file is Feb. 17 by 5 p.m.
On the school side, the positions held by Blanca Martineau and Bill Rodriguez are up for election.
As of Tuesday, no one had filed for the race.
In order to run for a school board position, a candidate must have lived in Texas for 12 months and inside the school district for six months prior to filling, must be 18 years of age or older on the first day of the term to be filled at the election or on the date of appointment, must be a U.S. citizen, has not been finally convicted of a felony and has not been determined by a final judgment of a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote. They must also be a registered voter.
Those who would like to file for the race can pick up and deliver applications to the Dublin ISD Administration office (420 N. Post Oak) Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
There are three city races also up for consideration: Place 1 held by Lee Jones, Place 3 currently held by Darren Turley and Place 5 held by Sammy Moore. Both Turley and Moore have filed for re-election.
