Plant Fair this Saturday

The Erath County Master Gardeners will hold its native and heirloom plant fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 22 at the Stephenville Historical House Museum.

There will be Texas natives, plants for sun and shade, annuals and perennials, cactus and succulents, house plants, garden accessories and fairy gardens, gardening tips from certified master gardeners, help with plant selection, expert advice on butterfly gardens, rainwater harvesting and more.

Comanche County Museum hosting Frontier Day

The Comanche County Museum is excited to invite everyone to an old-fashioned frontier day at the museum. There will be an opening flag ceremony, storytelling, a scavenger hunt, a petting zoo, a demonstration of spinning and weaving, a chuckwagon, a campsite from SCV 1904 of DeLeon, an 1905 Cadillac and more, along with refreshments.

Please sign in and have fun from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 22.

Lions Club sponsoring raffle

Dublin Lions Clubs is offering a prize package in a raffle to be given away during their annual Irish Stampede June 10.

The big package includes a $150 gift card for meat from Thompson’s Processing; a cooler from Higginbotham’s and a new Lions grill designed and constructed by Jar Head Construction Co. Tickets are $5 each or five tickets for $20. Tickets can be purchased from Club President Daniel Smith at 254-977-3229 or from members Raymond Salinas, Melissa Summers, Bill Rodriguez, David Cleveland, Steve Hightower or Mac McKinnon.

 

Lone Star Iris Society Show this Sunday

It's showtime again! The Lone Star Iris Society annual show is scheduled for Sunday, April 23, 1-3 p.m. at the True Vine Fellowship Church 18040 N. Hwy 281 in Hico Members will be available to answer your iris culture questions.

Potted irises will be available for purchase at $10 each. Shop early for best selection. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Library hosting weekly storytime Story Time is being hosted at the Dublin Public Library at 10 a.m. Thursdays in April.

For children age birth through 5 years old. Meet in the children’s room.

 

Hamilton Library to host book sale

The Hamilton Friends of the Library will be hosting a book sale Saturday, April 29 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hamilton Courthoust parking lot.

There will be free breakfast tacos while they last. The sale will offer a wide variety of materials from every genre.

 

Community Table to be held at FMC

The Community Table at Dublin First Methodist Church is now serving meals in the fellowship hall as well as performing deliveries.

The meals are free to the community the last Wednesday of every month, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This month’s meal will be served Wednesday, April 26.
