Daily COVID Report - July 28, 2020

Erath County officials released the daily report for July 28, revealing nine new cases since the July 27 report.

Total numbers of recovered cases increased from 286 to 301 between the reports and active cases dropped from 89 to 83.

The number of hospitalizations increased by five, making 19 Erath patients that tested positive for COVID-19 that have been hospitalized since March.

With more activities being held, residents are advised  to minimize exposure. According to county officials, this is especially important for people who are 65 years of age or older or who have underlying health conditions like heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, high blood pressure or cancer. People with these conditions are at higher if they do get COVID-19, and the safest thing for them during an outbreak will be to stay home as much as possible and minimize close contact with other people.

Residents can help stop the spread by:

  • Wearing a face covering
  • Social distance – Stay six feet apart
  • Wash or Sanitize hands often
  • If you are sick, stay home.
  • Get tested if you have symptoms of COVID-19
