Ladies lift at state

Dublin High School lifters Mariana Ortiz and Cassidy Adair ended their season at state competition in the Comerica Center in Frisco on Thursday, March 14.

Ortiz took top honors for her weight class in 3A, scoring astatetrophyandascholarship for her performance.

Her first place finish in the 220 class came from a total lift of 1,025 pounds (405 in squat, 280 in bench and 340 in dead lift.

Cassidy Adair scored 8th in the 198 with a total lift of 835 pounds (325 in squat, 205 in bench and 305 in dead lift).

Fellow DHS Powerlifters Cameron Patton and Elijah Gonzales will appear in the boys state powerlifting meet in Abilene on Friday, March 23 at 1 p.m..
