Body

BROWNWOOD

GOOD. Water stained; 81 degrees; 0.18 feet above pool. Black bass to 5.67 pounds are fair on frogs in the grass and weeds. Also on cranks off the rocks in 2-8 feet around the rock cuts. Fall transition is in progress and the fish are starting to move into the pockets and shallow flats. Crappie are fair with catches up to 10 inches caught near docks with brush on minnows in 12-15 feet and some offshore brush piles. White bass are good to 2.25 pounds on crankbaits around the lighted docks. Catfish are fair to 4 pounds on shad and liver.

GRANBURY

GOOD. Water stained; 80 degrees; 1.00 feet below pool. Granbury water temperatures continue to be in the upper 70s, but will be falling some this next week or so. Water levels are falling and the lake is about a foot low. Best Granbury action continues to be sand bass in 10-20 feet of water. Surface schooling fish can be found on many areas of the lake most every day. Striped bass are slow to fair on live bait and troll umbrella rigs. Best striped bass action is on the lower ends with some fish being caught near the Shores. Largemouth bass are good in numbers with an occasional fish to 6 pounds possible. Best reports come from the backs of creeks and sloughs and some fish are on main lake points.

POSSUM KINGDOM GOOD. Water stained; 77 degrees; 1.94 feet below pool. Stripers are fair to good with live bait early in the morning in 20-40 feet of water, then in 40-60 feet later in the day. Downriggers continue to be slow. Fish are still moving very fast and it is very hard to stay on top of them but it can be done. Your best bet is to just put baits in the water and slowly move around with the trolling motor until you find them. Once you find them, try to stay with them. Sand bass are still slow in 20-30 feet of water with live shad or small slabs and jigs or rattle traps. White and silver are good colors.

PROCTOR

SLOW. Water stained; 85 degrees; 0.65 feet above pool. Fishing patterns are holding steady but this could change with the forecasted cooler weather. Lake level is near conservation with water being released at 80 cfs. Copperas Creek day use and westside dock and ramp has been a popular area for anglers. Promontory Park Day use boat ramp is open. Early morning fishing on jugs has been productive for catfish.

WHITNEY

FAIR. Water normal stain; 82 degrees; 0.51 feet below pool. Catfish are good using punch bait in 18-25 feet of water. Striped bass bite is slow on live bait or trolling in 30’m feet of water. Some stripers can be caught on artificial baits while trolling umbrella rigs and Alabama rigs. Crappie are fair on small jigs and minnows in timber in 15-20 feet on the north end of the lake. White bass fishing is slow.
