A photo of the Dublin postal force was featured including: postmaster W.P. Wallmark, finance division Albert J. Palmer, General Delivery Rowland H. Andruss, Mailing and Distributing Dept. Titus Shillingburg and Mailing Dept. John Gordon.

The Comanche Sheriff disposed of a large sack of whiskey, brandy, wine and champaign found on a farm eight miles from the city. There were 123 bottles of liquor and two pints of corn whiskey valued at approximately $2,000 which were dumped.

Jan. 24, 1947

Buster McCarty, manager of the Dublin Zero Locker Plant, announced that a new $8,000 abbatoir was planned for the location.

Jan. 20, 1972

City water superintendent Roland Hefley was re-assigned to a position on the City Police force by the City Council. The addition of the fourth staff position allowed for round-theclock, 24-hour police protection for the city. A ground breaking picture for the new Dublin hospital was featured. Present were: directors Dr. Joe J. Pate and D.R. Franks, secretarytreasurer Joe Kennedy, board president J.W. Hall, hospital administrator LaRue Bell and board vice president Dr. C.T. Cole.

Jan. 23, 1997

City Council members were expected to meet with Brady’s Tom Winder to negotiate the terms of his position as Dublin City Manager.

Erath County Day was scheduled in Austin for Monday, March 3. Buses were expected to transport area representatives to Austin for the day, where senator David Sibley and state representative J.D. Allen Place would discuss items of interest.

A packed house of 200 were on-hand for the Dublin Chamber of Commerce banquet which featured master of ceremonies JD Evans from KSTV Radio and guest speaker Dan Willis, cowboy poet and humorist. Theme for the event was “You are the Key to Dublin’s Success.”
