HO HO HO and happy holidays from Dublin Elementary. It is an exciting time at DES as Christmas break is fast approaching. Students know the Elf’s are watching them in every classroom. Each day Elf’s surprise students with different pranks and activities.
December is a busy month with a lot of fun activities for students. This month we have the Elementary UIL Academic meet in Eastland. 21 students from DES will compete in at least one of the areas which are Oral Reading, Spelling, Chess, Music Memory, Creative Writing, or Ready Writing. Students and Coaches have been preparing very hard to compete and win the district meet.
It would not be Christmas without special Music programs. Students in grades Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd have been practicing daily with Mrs. Leatherwood to perform wonderful music programs on December 17th in the Intermediate School Cafeteria. Parents are welcome to attend the music program. A sign in sheet will be in the cafeteria to sign in when parents arrive. The times are: Kindergarten – 8:15-8:45, 1st grade – 9:15-9:45, 2nd grade – 10:15-10:45, and 3rd grade – 10:55-11:30.
Please remember there will be an early release on December 17th at 1:00 pm. Classes will resume after the Christmas Holiday on January 10th. We hope everyone has a great Christmas break with family and friends. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from DES.
