Kids of all ages enjoy digging into some dino fun at the Dublin Public Library June 27, 2024, with Park Rangers from Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose. Students and adults alike got to hear about fossils found at the park, unearth some fossils outside and enjoy some popsicles courtesy of library staff.
Parents and players flocked to Dublin City Park for a Dublin Baseball Softball Association Tournament. As games kicked off in the morning of June 29, 2024, teams faced off in the upper diamond while teams warmed up outside the fences.
A patriotically adorned truck for Morning Star Ranch shows off their supporters followed by riders on horseback at Stephenville's July 4th parade. Morning Star Ranch is a safe, Christian experience where children can learn life skills by opening their hearts to horses located outside Dublin.
Lyndi Hanna and Hank of Annie Therapeutic Companions teaches kids at Dublin Public Library about the need for registered animal therapy teams. The program, organized by Lyndi, showcased working dogs including a K9 officer, a therapy dog and an arson detection dog July 11, 2024, as part of special programs for the Summer Reading Club.
Emergency services responded to a single vehicle car fire July 22, 2024, on Hwy. 377. No one was injured in the fire but the vehicle was a total loss.
August 2024
Sisters enjoy playing in a giant foam pile at the annual Back to School Fair at the Dublin Public Library July 27, 2024. The event offered free backpacks, toiletries and more for students and parents getting ready for school.
Teachers gathered for the annual Teacher Convocation Aug. 1, 2024, at the Dublin Secondary campus. Staff members received numerous give-a-ways from local businesses organized by volunteers and the Dublin Chamber of Commerce.
Dublin Lion and Lady Lion athletes gathered at the secondary school before day break Aug. 5, 2024, for the first official day of practice for both football and volleyball with coaching staff running the football boys through drills in catching, evasion, tackling and more, while volleyball girls started on the Cervetto Field track before working on the finer points of the game in the Roy and Lynn Neff Gym.
A rendering showcases a new 350 rental home project approved through a zoning change in August 2024 by the Stephenville City Council. The project includes Spanish Revival-style architecture.

September 2024
More than $9,000 was raised for Erath County Humane Society’s new shelter through last Saturday’s Canines and Coffee event in September 2024. A wide variety of vendors and entertainment was at the event including famous Tick Tocker Nick Luciano and his dogs Maverick and Bullet.
Rylan’s Colors for Courage gave citizens the chance to showcase artistic talents on sidewalks surrounding the Dublin Public Library Sept. 7, 2024, while raising funds for the Rylan Strong Network. Servant Souls MC aided in the event. Rylan Strong Network, a local nonprofit, helps provide funerals for children who have lost their battle with cancer and with funding for childhood cancer research.
Dublin Police Officer Cody Cook and his father-in-law Aric Enciso, who is a Captain with Lake Cities FD, participated in this year’s Dallas 9/11 Stair Climb. They climbed 110 flights in honor of first responders who died in the 9/11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Centers in New York.

Citizens review a wide variety of design boards at a community-wide dinner Sept. 23, 2024, at the Dublin Intermediate School in the feedback portion of the design workshop for Citizens’ Institute on Rural Design (CIRD).

The Sounds of Dublin hosted eight bands in the 4th Annual Harry Bradberry Marching Classic on Cervetto Field Oct. 5, 2024. Bands were able to get drone footage of their routines and judged comments before they attend Regional competition on Oct. 19 in Mineral Wells.
Dublin Public Library hosted a spooky painting class Oct. 17, 2024, where teens were invited to transform existing images by painting ghosts on them. In addition to having supplies provided, the teens in attendance got to enjoy Halloween candy and pizza. The event is part of the Library’s push to increase the diversity in offered activities and appeal to teens.
Firefighters battled their way through smoke to enter an apartment on Mesquite Street that was fully involved. As a result of the fire, Jackie Reed, 72, died in October 2024. Other nearby apartments were impacted through smoke and water damage.

November 2024

Jill and Ross McAngus were declared as the winners of Dancing for the Stars as Team McAngus raised the most funds for Big Brothers, Big Sisters Erath County at the annual fundraiser in November 2024.
The roof of the building next to the Corner Lot collapsed in November 2024 leaving a pile of rubble for the owners to sort through and a demolition permit to remove the debris has been applied for.
Dublin PD Lt. Khris Jennings, Elementary Principal Brandy Carr and Counselor D’Ann Bradford try some interesting pumpkin pies from third graders. The third graders had to learn how to follow a recipe and made the pies. They received judging from the eager judges. They were most thankful for beverages after tasting some pies that contained a bit too much pepper.
December 2024
Calvary Fellowship and Marcia and Ryan Raborn of Dublin Golden Chick were up early Thanksgiving day preparing and packaging meals for those who needed them. Both sites served 75 meals each with all the trimmings to Dublin neighbors and said they felt blessed to do so. Both have helped others with Thanksgiving in the past, and the Raborns said, thanks to several generous donors, they were able to do the most they’ve ever done. Echoing a sentiment for both sites, Ryan Raborn said, “God is Good and may God bless you all this holiday season!”
