Dublin embraces Christmas charity this season; all angels taken

Charity giving is in full force in Dublin and Erath County with several projects soon coming to a close including Toys for Tots.

Lilly G Arena Productions is hosting the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots drive again for Erath County.

Below is a list of current locations to drop off new and unwrapped toys: The Dublin Citizen, Dublin City Hall, Blackjack Office Center, Wich Kids Sandwiches, Dublin Rodeo Museum, Dublin Bottling Works, Dublin Five Star Dairy Queen, Golden Chick, Hacienda Camino Real Restaurant, Blackjack Coffee Shop and First National Bank.

Drop off locations in Stephenville are Cici’s Pizza, Bruner Chevrolet, Toledo Finance, Don Nico’s on Washington, Wellington Bank, JJ’s Cowboy Tobacco, and R&R BBQ.

The deadline to drop off toys is tight this year and toys need to be dropped off by Sunday, Dec. 8 since boxes are picked up on Monday, Dec. 9. All toys donated stay locally. Applicants can pick toys up in Stephenville at the United Co-op Electric Co. Community Room from 1-5 p.m. Dec. 14 and at the Dublin Rodeo Heritage Museum from 1-5 p.m. Dec. 21. We are pleased to announce all Angels have already been adopted in Dublin (with the National Honor Society for local kids, senior citizens and women in need at CWJC and Meals on Wheels at the library).

Those wanting to still aid in Angel Tree projects, donations are being accepted through a clothing drive and toy drive for the school district’s Angel Tree project. Boxes will be placed at all schools and at local stores by the end of the week. All gifts from the school district’s Angel Tree need to be returned, unwrapped with the Angel Tree tag attached to The Church for the Lost and Found on 512 N Park Street by 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14. Gifts will be distributed to families from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18 at the Church for the Lost and Found.
