The Dublin Garden Club held our November 13th meeting at Texas Sage. Texas Sage was a wonderful host setting up seating and tables for our meeting. They also provided each of us with gifts for coming to their business.
Our guest presenter was Daniel Bills from Dublin Floral. Daniel made a wonderful fall arrangement and then presented the arrangement to the club. During the presentation, Daniel explained about all the different containers that are wonderful to use for fall arrangements. Also, as Daniel was building the arrangement he spoke about how to use different colors to add more depth and interest to the arrangement. He also spoke about suppliers since they receive flowers from all over the world. One of their main suppliers is closing down at the first of next year. Several suppliers are leaving the business as they have trouble with shipping, costs, and getting premium flowers with the changes the world is seeing in weather.
The Garden Club is hosting the Christmas Tour of Homes again this year. It will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8. We have some wonderful homes in this years tour.
Roxanne McInroe's mansion (long time Dubliners refer to it as The Castle) on Clinton, the Weems' gingerbread home on Davies, the Grist Mill on Elm, the Little Church on Grafton, and Steve Chambers' wonderful country home will again be on the tour.
Refreshments will be at the Little Church on Grafton. Early tickets can be purchased at Dublin Floral, Titan Fitness,andDublinInsurance Agency. You can also purchase at the door at each location. The cost is $15 per person or $25 for two tickets. Hope to see you there!
