Raising the Banner

Members of the American Legion Post 219 raise new Texas, U.S. and POW/MIA flags to half-mast during a Memorial Day ceremony Monday morning at the Veterans Memorial by the Dublin Public Library. The event drew dozens who paid their respects as they listed to a history of Memorial Day, heard a poem about the sacrifice of some soldiers to keep us free and stood silent as “Taps” was played.
