Members of Dublin High School One Act Play were busy Friday at the old auditorium on Camden, decorating for a Christmas Spectacular Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 6 p.m.

“I had an idea this summer to do it and told the kids,” said DHS director Stacy Smith. “They jumped on it. They have taken it over and I love it that way.”

The public is invited to attend with entry and homemade baked goods available by donation. Proceeds will go to help the OAP program with extra needs during the school year.

National Honors Society students will also be in attendance taking donations for clothing and toy drives for Christmas.

Smith said he conceived of the show, he only knew that he wanted to lead with Carol of the Bells and decided to recite the “’Twas the Night Before Christmas in Texas” with the students acting it out.

The students have been working and planning the remainder of the 10 acts.

“It’s a variety show,” said Smith. “There’ll be singing; they’ll be dancing; there’ll be skits.”

“Please come and support these kids,” Smith said in inviting the public to the performance. “They’re wonderful and they’re talented. We want to wish you a Merry Christmas!”
