It was all hands on deck for a major structure fire at Cutting Edge Cabinets located on Hwy. 377 between Dublin and Stephenville.
The fire occurred around 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21 and the buildings and all contents are a complete loss, according to Erath County Fire Marshal Tommy Shelton.
Though the precise cause may never be known due to the damage of the fire, the fire marshal’s office has said they believe the fire was accidental.
Stephenville Fire Marshal and Saginaw Fire Marshal aided Shelton with his investigation.
Shelton noted there were power surges experienced in Dublin shortly before the fire, however, the electricity in Cutting Edge Cabinets is on co-op power, while Dublin’s is provided by Oncor.
The fire truck arrived on scene at 8:01 p.m. and a flood of fire apparatus followed afterwards as Dublin, Stephenville, Proctor, Lingleville, Harbin and Erath County Fire/Rescue responded to the blaze. Erath County Sheriff’s Office and DPS also aided with traffic control due to the location of the fire and its proximity to the roadway.
During the fire, crews had to refill tankers near Bramlett in Stephenville due to limited water hydrants that had a large enough flow.
According to Dublin Fire Chief Paul Warner, just between the fire tankers for Dublin, Harbin and Lingleville, they utilized about 25,000 gallons of water.
No one was injured in the fire, and the company will remain open for business.
“We really want to thank all of the first responders for their help,” Audrey and Ronnie Lochlear, owners of the business said.
Crews remained on scene until 11 p.m. and the fire marshal’s office spent an additional four hours on scene the next day, stopping twice when there was a rekindle.
