EDC seeks new director

The Dublin Economic Development Corporation is now seeking a new executive director after the resignation of its most recent director, Penny Corona.

Corona was hired in February 2023 for the position and recently resigned. Until a replacement is found, the EDC board will be handling the day-to-day items needed for the EDC.

“We want someone who is passionate about Dublin and is looking for a longterm position,” EDC board President Paul Bradberry said. “We would like someone forward thinking but who appreciates the history of Dublin.”

The EDC is accepting applications for the position of executive director through July 23. It is a full time position and salary is based on experience and qualifications with emphasis on communication, marketing or business administration and basic QuickBooks experience.

The executive director implements policies set by the board of directors and manages daily activities of the organization.

The EDC is funded by sales tax earmarked for economic development which requires detailed record keeping.

The executive director works with other organizations, such as the city of Dublin and the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, with common causes of creating and enhancing business development and retention, economic strength of the community, as well as tourism which benefits economic development.

Training will include Basic ED practices, Freedom of Information and Sales Tax or other topics which pertain to the operation or ethics of the position.
