Cowboy Christmas rides in Saturday

Santa is coming to Dublin this Saturday and there are a slew of events to welcome him to town.

Saturday, Dec. 7, the Dublin Chamber of Commerce’s Cowboy Christmas will be held downtown. It is a rain or shine event, including the parade.

Starting at noon, vendors will be open, a petting zoo, bounce houses and family fun activities will take place at Celebration Park, Doublin’ In and on Grafton/Elm Street, which will be closed to traffic.

Dublin Market Days will be taking place in Wright Park from noon to 5 p.m. and Things Celtic will have live music by Christine Anderson from noon to 2 p.m. inside the store.

From 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., 5 N Dimers will perform.

The Christmas Parade lineup will take place from 5-6 p.m. and the parade with Santa will start at 6p.m.andtravelthroughdowntown Dublin.

After the parade, there will be a tree lighting in conjunction with the Dublin Lions Club in Wright Park across from the library.

At 7:30 p.m. Pictures with Santa will be available on Grafton/Elm Street and from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Lindsay Hightower will perform.

Other activities taking place over the weekend include Holiday in the Park at the Stephenville/ Dublin KOA located at 1205 N FM 219 in Dublin. On Friday, Dec. 6, Holiday in the Park will be open from at 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7 will be open from noon to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 8 will be open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. During the event, there will be cookies with Santa, a Christmas Village, bounce house, kids games, food trucks and candy cane hunt. Admission is free though each event has different costs associated with it.

Texas Sage located at 2554 W. Hwy. 6 will also be having a Christmas Celebration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be vendors, a scavenger hunt, ornament painting, cattle call boutique, Christmas photos, brisket tacos PAWS rescue.

Sunday, Dec. 8 the Dublin Garden Club will be hosting its Tour of Homes. The viewing of homes will be from 2-5 p.m. with refreshments served at The Little Church on Grafton from 2-5:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15 each or two for $25. Tickets may be purchased in advance from any Dublin Garden Club member, Dublin Floral, Dublin Insurance Agency, Titan Fitness or the day of the tour at any home on the tour. Homes on the tour include Steven Chambers’ home (1069 CR 305 in Dublin), Roxanne McInroe’s home (502 W. Clinton Street in Dublin), Denise Weems’ home (203 N. Davies Street in Dublin), the William T. Miller Grist Mill (Corner of Elm St. and S. Park St. in Dublin) and The Little Church on Grafton (301 N. Grafton in Dublin.)
