Erath County officials reported 13 new cases of COVID-19 in the report from Thursday night (Oct. 22). Nine of these new positive cases were from within the city limits of Stephenville and four were rural residents of the county.

 

The number of total cases increased by 60 in the past week, standing at 927 in the Oct. 15 report and 987 a week later. 

 

Active cases decreased from 145 to 141 in the past week while recovered cases increased from 777 on Oct. 15 to 841 in the report from Thursday night.

 

Reported deaths in patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 since March have remained at five. Six new hospitalizations were reported this week to increase the number of hospitalizations since March to 38.

 

County officials remind residents that according to the Texas Department of State Health Services, there are things everyone can do to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:

-Wear a face covering in public 

-Stay six feet apart 

-Wash or sanitize hands often 

-If sick, get tested and stay at home 

-Stay home when possible
