In the thirty-six years since the Progress was founded it has constantly told the people of this territory of the benefits to be derived from trading at home and it has preached loyalty to Dublin always.
Especially at this season of the year can the people of this territory be benefitted by buying in Dublin, for never before have the merchants of this town had larger stocks nor have their prices been more reasonable.
Before you consider buying anywhere else get their prices and make comparisons, we know that you will be surprised if you are not already acquainted with the values they are offering.
Have you considered what loyalty to your town means to you? Would you live here or near here if there were no stores in Dublin? Would it be possible for to have the splendid schools and churches we have if there were no stores here? Would your home, farm or business property be worth a tenth of its present value if it were not for the stores of this town? Who is it that offers the farmer a market for his products, it assuredly isn’t the out of town businesses: we would like to see with what success he would meet if he tried to sell his products to some of the business houses of our larger cities. Consider these things, are you really treating yourself right when you send money away from home?

It’s better to give than receive as Dublin elementary students from Judy Warner’s class can tell people.
Last Friday, a dozen students loaded up 32 boxes of gifts as part of Operation Christmas Child which distributes gifts in 44 countries throughout Latin America, Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
“They were all really excited about giving gifts to children in other countries, as you can see by the number of items we have,” Mrs. Warner said.
From school supplies to small toys and candy and tooth brushes, the items were boxed and marked with suitable descriptions for distribution.
“It it all going to fit?” asked one student.
“I’ve got one for a boy!” exclaimed another.
Loading up their gifts, 12 students climbed into a van to transport their presents to Bedford where they will be shipped out by Samaritan’s Purse in Boone, N.C. to sites around the world.
Students transporting gifts to Operation Christmas Child included Tanner Shaw, Chelsey Towns, Whitney Curry, Mitchell Greenway, Lisa Reed, Emily Button, Mindy Juarez, Joseph Warner, Sarah Young and Arthur Rodriguez.
