Oct. 29, 1920

A bolt of lightning struck a large oil reservoir and set it on fire. The tank burned for three days before it stopped. The tank was one of many on the farm that contained 55,000 barrels of crude oil. The flames were kept down as much as possible but could not be extinguished completely. While the tank was burning the crude oil in the bottom of the tank was siphoned into other tanks and 15 thousand barrels were saved.

Oct. 1945

Reid Motor Company displayed the 1946 Ford passenger car. Mr. Reid encouraged everyone to come and see the new car and the many new features the car had to offer and mechanical improvements that had been made.

The Snooty Lion was taken over by new manager and owner, Jay White. The Snooty Lion was a dairy treat and hamburger drive-in on North Patrick. With a new owner, came new attractions.
