Stephenville Mayor recognizes Braille Literacy Month

To All Citizens,

As we embark on the new year, I am pleased to join communities across the nation in celebrating National Braille Literacy Month this January. This month is a vital opportunity to recognize the importance of Braille in empowering individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Braille is not only a code for reading and writing but a key tool for independence, education, and equal access to the world around us.

In our city, we are committed to fostering inclusivity and ensuring that all of our residents have the resources and support they need to thrive. During this month, I encourage you to take a moment to learn more about Braille, its history, and its ongoing significance in providing access to literacy for millions of individuals worldwide. It is a time for reflection, awareness, and advocacy for the continued advancement of accessibility.

Let us all work together to ensure that our city remains a welcoming place for everyone, regardless of their abilities. By championing literacy in all its forms, including Braille, we help pave the way for a more inclusive and equitable community.

Thank you for your attention to this important cause. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors and continue to build a stronger, more inclusive city for all.
