With Summer Reading Club all wrapped up, the Dublin Public Library will be looking towards the fall and some upcoming programming.

Summer Reading Club boasted 115 kids that read throughout the summer, six teens and 30 adults for a total of 151 readers.

Kids that were participating read a total of 2,745 picture books and 777 chapter books. Teen read 111 chapter books and adults read 425 chapter books and embraced their inner child by reading 78 picture books.

The library concluded its Summer Reading Program with a Back to School Fair where 210 kids received brand new backpacks and other supplies.

The library is also seeking feedback on a special grant for small and rural communities from those who identify as disabled or those who have loved ones who are disabled. The event will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 and lunch will be provided.

“We’re actively seeking to enhance our services, support, and resources for those who identify as disabled,” Library Director Adina Dunn said. “We invite everyone to join us in a conversation to explore and learn ways in which we can further develop and improve to better support the disabled community.”

While library staff would love attendance in person, they are inviting those who may need accommodations, translation services or cannot attend a live event to contact them.

Call 254-445-4141 or text 254-938-8177 to register for the event.

The Library is located at 206 W. Blackjack. It is open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturdays. Library cards are free.
