If you see me and I look a little more fatigued than usual, I’m probably still recovering from putting out our annual Visitor’s and Newcomer’s Guide last week. (Don’t fret if you missed it; we’re stocking it in places like hotels and Chamber of Commerce offices for free and it can be found on the front page of dublincitizen.com for free along with all of our other special sections.)
I probably would be more tired if I didn’t have Wyndi, who helped me update the information about all the fun events and places that can be visited locally.
I would periodically hear things, ‘Such and such town has so and so?’ That’s so cool!’ This would invariably be followed by an accusatory “Why didn’t you tell me this existed?” or “Why haven’t we gone there?”
Wyndi and I have had several fun field trips just exploring nearby towns and the guide has provided us for pointers on some excursions in the coming months.
There seems to be more of an emphasis on saving up for trips with our generation but those trips are almost always focused on expensive journeys across the country or world. There’s a lot to explore in your own backyard that won’t cost an arm and a leg.
Next time, you have an open weekend, share some quality time with family and friends finding a new favorite place you can revisit.
