The Dublin Economic Development board met in regular session Tuesday to approve several commercial building grants, as well as grants for historic home preservation and community improvement.

Granbury investor/developer Mack Stewart was awarded Commercial Building Grants for three of his properties: 304 S. Patrick for $5,000; 109 W. O’Neil for $3,889.41 and 222 S. Patrick for $5,000.

Carla Stevens was awarded a Historic Home Grant for $4,000 for “the Hollon House” at 227 N. Patrick.

A Commercial Building Grant for $468.75 was awarded to Danielle Meador for façade improvements at The Wicked Clover, 111 S. Patrick.

The board also approved a $2,500 Community Improvement Grant to the Dublin Senior Citizens Center for façade cleanup and safety improvements.

The board renewed its commitment for support of the TxDOT business signs which were erected in early November at the south end of Patrick Street at the bypass exit.

Represented on those signs now are Central Inn and Dairy Queen. TxDOT continues to accept applications for food, lodging and gas.

The board also expressed support for the tourism signs which are in production by TxDOT now.

Three Dublin museums (Dublin Historical Museum, Dublin Rodeo Heritage Museum and the new National Health and Public Safety History Museum) will have north and south bound signage at the by-pass and Highway 6 west.

The board also approved nominees for new board terms for Monte Thiebaud, Darrell Curry, Sarah McCann and Dr. Joe Cannon. Dr. Cannon is on a leave of absence and his position is being filled by Lanora Davidson.
