Turkey Giveaway meals to be given Saturday
Spots filled up quickly for the third annual Great Turkey Giveaway with 100 Erath County families signing up to receive free turkey dinners for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Mattressville is joined in sponsoring the annual giving tradition by Baby Clay’s Meat Market, BMY and Timber Ridge Church.
In years past, turkeys were handed out at multiple locations in the community but precautions are being taken to keep “your family and ours safe this holiday,” according to the event’s organizers. This year, those who signed up will not just receive a turkey just in time for the holiday but all the necessary supplies to make a feast for their family.
Families who successfully registered can pick up their dinner from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Nov. 21 at Timber Ridge Church (N. Bates and FM 8 in Stephenville), where volunteers will load the supplies as recipients drive through thereby limiting contact.
