Cattle Gathering Beef Program

Cattle producers have been experiencing the best prices we have ever seen, and it is about time. This spell of good prices will hopefully give everyone a chance to catch their breath, catch up on bills, and maybe make some improvements to their farms. However, there are a lot of things coming down the pike that will have huge impacts on your cattle operation and now is the time to make plans to manage through those challenges.

We will be hosting a great Cattle Gathering Beef Program to help answer some of your questions and give you some management ideas to help deal with the potential coming of perilous conditions for the cattle industry. We have an amazing line up of presenters that are the top experts in their fields. Speakers and topics will include Dr. Sonja Swiger talking about the New World Screwworm, Dr. Jason Cleere talking about beef cattle nutrition and how and when to supplement your hay and pastures, Dr. Jason Johnson discussing the cattle market and what we might expect in the future, and finally, all speakers will be discussing the New World Screwworm and what effect it will have on your individual operationsfrom managing and treatments, to how long it might be around, and what effects it might have on the livestock markets.

The New World Screwworm is the biggest challenge facing livestock producers, probably since it was eliminated in the late 1960’s. We will finish the program with a round-table discussion and input from each speaker and questions from the producers. Each presenter will be able to add to the screwworm discussion. This program will provide a lot of valuable information on the screwworm but also other topics that will help your bottom line.

The program will be held on October 30th from 10:00 AM- 2:00 PM at the Station FNB in Dublin, TX (815 North Patrick). Red Chain Feeds will provide a good lunch so if you are interested in attending, please give us a call at (325)-356-2539 for more information and to RSVP. I would really encourage you to try and make this program if you are a beef producer.
