May 25 brings grads, grins

More than $75,500 in scholarships were presented as 71 Dublin High School seniors received their diplomas on May 25.

The graduation ceremony began with an invocation by Blake Stephen followed by Adriana Ramirez leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Benediction was delivered by Hailey Blackwell, and Angel Escobar led the school song.

Hailey Ortega sang the National Anthem before Brianna Karasek and Brent Stephen took stage to respectively deliver the valedictory and salutatory addresses (Those speeches can be found in the May 31 edition.)

A record number of the DHS class of 2018 received recognition of an associate’s degree that night as they had taken enough hours from Ranger College to earn a degree by graduation. Ranger’s Jennifer Kent addressed these graduates during the ceremony.

There was no shortage of awards during the ceremony, which are listed in the May 31 edition.
