Karasek, Stephen named as top grads

Dublin High School will celebrate the commencement of the class of 2018 on Friday at 7:30 in the Roy and Lynn Neff Gymnasium.

Dublin Graduate Brianna Karasek is the 2018 valedictorian. Brent Stephen is the salutatorian.

Graduating with a 4.42 GPA, the daughter of James and Amy Karasek will pursue degrees in theater and criminal justice at Tarleton State University next year. 
Karasek was active in Dublin’s art programs in high school, serving as a drum major in the marching band this year and playing an active role in the high school and junior high theater programs. She was also a member of the jazz band and competed in UIL literary criticism and poetry and prose reading competitions. 
Karasek also threw discus and shot put for the Lady Lions and became a certified nursing assistant.
She hopes to work in government intelligence or as a detective when she finishes her studies. 

Stephen took the salutatorian honor with a 4.1875 GPA. 
The son of Les and Rhonda Styephen, he plans to study mechanical engineering at Tarleton and pursue a career in aviation. Stephen has been working toward getting his pilot’s license during high school.
He was a member of the Sound of Dublin Band, active in cross country, track and baseball. Stephen was in the First National Bank’s Junior Board of Directors, National Honor Society and FFA, where he served as reporter.
