Lions score Area title

Hitting a new high for the school’s program, the Lion baseball team stole past Tolar for a two-game sweep of the Area title.

The Dublin Lion baseball team is headed to Weatherford Junior College for the quarterfinal round of the Regional tournament Friday night at 7:30 against Brock.

“It’s a high you can’t buy,” said Athletic Director Bob Cervetto of the win.

The historic playoff win last weekend is thanks in part to three RBIs hit by Keith Wright.

Tim Teten pitched the final out with bases loaded  on Saturday to seal the 6-4 victory. He struck out 66 percent of the batters he faced in the game.

Teten, Cameron Olvera and Angel Ramirez also batted in a run each.

Rayce Jackson hit three for three and stole twice, crossing home once.

In game one, the team won 5-4.
