Dublin man charged with child porn

Dublin PD announced the arrest of Dublin resident William Johnson, 39, for possession of child pronography in a press release issued today. The release is as follows:

On the evening of Tuesday January 9, 2018, the Dublin Police Department received a Cyber Tip Alert from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in reference to images of child pornography being viewed and/or shared by a Dublin resident. 

With the information received in the report a suspect, William Johnson, was quickly identified.  On Wednesday January 10, 2018 Officers began interviewing potential witnesses while obtaining a search warrant for the suspect’s residence.  In the early afternoon of January 10, 2018 Officers with the Dublin Police Department executed the search warrant on Johnson’s residence and were able to conduct an interview with him. 

During the course of the interview with Johnson, he admitted to possessing images of child pornography on his mobile device.  Based on the evidence obtained during the investigation and Johnson’s confession he was arrested and charged with Possession of Child Pornography. 

Johnson is still currently incarcerated in the Erath County Jail with a $250,000 bond.  The investigation is ongoing as Officers review evidence collected as a result of the search warrant.
