Lions vying for third

The Lions defeated Coleman on Monday night, 5-2, in seven innings.

Josh Hanes hit an in-park grand slam in the sixth inning to bring home Tim Teten, Rayce Jackson and Keith Wright. Teten hit a triple to center field in the fourth inning and came home on a sacrifice fly to left field by Bryson Fowler. The team held Coleman scoreless until the top of the final inning. Rayce Jackson hit two singles and stole a base.

The Lions sit fourth neck-and-neck with Brady vying for third place in the District behind Comanche, first, and Early, second. If the Lions defeat Bangs on Thursday, they will secure their spot. Four teams advance to playoffs, which begin on May 6.

The team will face Bangs on the road on Thursday at 7 p.m.
