Lady Lions improve on road
The Lady Lions lost to Coleman on Monday night 16-3, but their improvement over the past two games has been just the shot in the arm they’ve needed.
“These last two district games were the best we have played so far,” head coach Jason Clark said. “We are hitting better and our confidence is up.”
Grayci Vargas batted in two RBIs. Renaa Jorgensen scored a run off her single. Hannah Vargas pitched two innings, and Macie Bell pitched three innings.
Comanche 20, Dublin 4
The Lady Lions fell to Comanche 20-4 Friday but still managed several outstanding plays.
Addison Stout initiated a triple play, catching a fly ball in the outfield and then fast-thinking by Renaa Jorgenson and Jessica Enseroth caught runners out on second and third. Hannah Vargas hit a single, scored a run and stole a base. She also pitched three innings. Whitney Weems hit a single, scored and stole a base. Lessly Robles pitched 1 inning.
The Lady Lions will play Thursday, April 13 in Bangs at 5 p.m.
JV runs over Maidens
JV won over Comanche Friday, 14-8.
Macie Bell pitched three innings and Layla Wing pitched one. Macie Bell had two walks, three stolen bases and scored twice. Layla Wing walked twice, home twice. Ivet Martinez also scored twice off two walks, stealing three bases.
JV will play in Bangs at 6:30 p.m.
