St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner, and green and gold festivities are blossoming at every opportunity.

There will be a free shuttle running during the events from downtown Dublin to the City Park.

Annual Pageants

The week of St. Patrick’s Day, the Little Miss Dublin, Junior Miss Dublin and Miss Dublin Pageants will host young women vying for the crown and for Miss Dublin, the opportunity to win a scholarship through the Dublin Chamber of Commerce that hosts the pageants.

Over the past few weeks, contestants have been practicing each Sunday and Saturday, March 3, Junior Miss Dublin and Miss Dublin contestants were interviewed by a panel of judges while having refreshments provided by the Women’s Thursday Club of Dublin. Little Miss Dublin contestants got to have their own tea party fun at The Station where they enjoyed games, refreshments and crafts.

The Little Miss Dublin pageant will be held Thursday, March 14 at 7 p.m. at the Dublin Intermediate School.

Both the Junior Miss Dublin and Miss Dublin pageants will be hosted Friday, March 15 at 7 p.m. at the Dublin Intermediate School.

Admission is $5 for adults, and kids and students are free.

Shamrock Shuffle Titan Fitness will be hosting its annual Shamrock Shuffle 5K Saturday, March 16 to kick off the town’s festivities. The proceeds from the event will benefit the Dublin Goodfellows.

Registration for the 5K is $30 for adults and $20 for children ages 10 and younger.

Race day registration and check-in will be held at the Dublin Public Library (206 W. Blackjack) from 6 a.m. to 6:45 a.m. with runners taking off at 7:30 a.m. Those entering do not have to run, walking is also allowed and it’s a great activity for a family to do together, Donna Hightower, owner of Titan Fitness, said.

Awards will be given to the top three male and female runners in each of the 15 age divisions (ranging from 5 and younger to 80 and older) as well as to the top three male and female overall winners. The awards are usually held around 9:30 a.m., offering plenty of time for runners to get over to Patrick Street for the 10 a.m. parade.

Online registration is available at https:// runsignup.com/Race/ Events/TX/Dublin/ ShamrockShuffleDublin and timing will be performed by Race Day Event Services. Packets may be picked up early from 3 to 7 p.m. at Titan Fitness (125 S. Patrick) on Friday, March 15. For more information, call 254-445-3001 or visit titanfitnessdublin. com.
