Emergency services spent more than three hours Thursday, Feb. 15 on scene at a house fire at 426 W. Mesquite.

According to Erath County Fire Marshal Tommy Shelton preliminary investigation indicates that the fire was accidental and no one was home at the time of the fire.

The home suffered from extreme heat and water damage and the family’s cat died in the fire, though their dogs survived. The home is totaled.

“A neighbor came over and kicked in the door because they thought someone might have been home,” Shelton said.

Dublin PD, Dublin EMS and Dublin Volunteer Fire Department along with Erath County Volunteer Fire/Rescue responded to the fire.
