Fatality kills teen on Hwy. 377

A fatality accident snarled traffic Wednesday, Feb. 21 on Hwy. 377 near CR 258.

The preliminary investigation by State Troopers indicates that a 2016 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Jessica Pacini, 23, of Stephenville, was stopped on the highway crossover on Hwy. 377 to travel on to CR 258.

PassengerRubenBenavides, 19, of Stephenville, was also in the vehicle. A 2021 Ford Bronco driven by Jennifer Johnson-Cooley, 42, of Stephenville was reportedly traveling north on Hwy. 377 when the Elantra drove in front of her. The report stated the Bronco struck the passenger side of the Elantra. Benavides died as a result of thewreckandwaspronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Chili Alexander. Pacini was transported with minor injuries to Texas Health HarrisMethodistStephenville and Johnson-Cooley was transported with minor injuries to Comanche County Medical City.
