City races draw candidates

An election for city council and mayor will be held May 6 after filings ended Friday, Feb. 16 in contested races.

For the race of mayor, incumbent David Leatherwood will face off against John J Staud III.

For city council Place 2 incumbent Orion Gallagher will face off against Nancy Williams.

For city council Place 4 Tyson Lueck will face off against Jacob McCullough.

Incumbent Place 4 candidate Keegan Mcinroe did not file to retain his seat.

For DISD school board, only the incumbent candidates Bob Cervetto, Raymond Salinas and James Moore, filed to retain their seats so no election will be held.

Early voting for the races begins April 22. Candidate profile stories will be featured in the upcoming weeks after Primary March 5 voting concludes.
