Lucky Vines hosts animal adoption event Saturday, May 4

Erath County Humane Society will be coming to Lucky Vines! Come see all the wonderful animals they have for adoption and take home your new furry best friend!

They will be there from noon to 3 p.m. There will be a raffle with donations from small businesses around the area. Raffle sales will go to the donation Lucky Vines will give ECHS at the end of the day!

The winery is located at 675 CR 497 in Dublin.

ECHS hosts Cinco de Mayo Dog Jog 

Erath County Humane Society is hosting its inaugural Cinco de Mayo Dog Jog 5K 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 5.

The event kicks off at the Bosque River Trail trailhead, conveniently located at Timber Ridge Church on Lingleville Road. Lace up your running shoes and get ready to hit the trail for a non-timed 5K adventure like no other. Themed costumes are highly encouraged, so unleash your creativity and show off your Cinco de Mayo spirit!

The 5K begins promptly at 2 p.m. and is open to all runners, walkers and rollers. While our furry friends won’t be able to join us on the 5K route, don’t worry – the fun doesn’t stop there!

At 3 p.m., we’ll kick off the 1-mile fun run, where leashed, furry 4-legged companions are more than welcome to strut their stuff alongside their human companions.

Memorial Day flag placement in Lingleville
Those who wish to remember those who served are invited to place flags at Lingleville Cemeteries at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25.
Volunteers will meet at Lingleville East End Cemetery first and then go to Lingleville West End Cemetery.
U.S. flags will be provided.

Comanche Museum to honor moms with luncheon event
The Comanche County Museum cordially invites you to honor mothers and enjoy a Sunday lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Indulge in the menu including  traditional oven-baked ham from Pederson Farms,  sweet german uncured smoked sausage from Pederson Farms,  polynesian meat balls,  1883 English scalloped potatoes,  orange herb rice, bacon-infused cut green beans,  classic peas and carrots medley,  cabbage with orange ginger,  broccoli/cauliflower italian style pasta salad,  cukes, tomatoes and red onion, ambrosia,  apple cranberry jello,  desserts, hot dogs for kids,  tea and water.

Comanche Museum to host art show
The Comanche County Museum is excited to invite local artisans to show their art: handcrafted ( table top or wall size) paintings, or drawings, needlework or stitching; children or adults. 
The show will be May 1-9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. Please bring your own easels for large pieces. For more information call the museum at 325-356-5115. The museum is located at 402 Moorman Rd. in Comanche, West of Bayer Motor Co. All art must be picked Thursday, May 9.

CCMC hosts Community Health Fair May 16
The Comanche County Medical Center (CCMC) Health System invites the public to join its Community Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 16 at the new Legacy Estate Long Term Care, 10133 Highway 16 North (TX-16), adjacent to the CCMC Hospital in Comanche. 


The event will feature nearly 40 area health organizations and vendors plus staff from across the CCMC Health System, including cardiac and pulmonary rehab, infusions, imaging, primary care, telehealth, pharmacies, occupational health, assisted living, and long-term care. CCMC will offer several health screenings such as blood pressure, oxygen, and glucose.
