The Dublin Lady Lions softball girls wrapped up their season with a 15-1 away loss to Eastland Monday, April 22.

K’Leigh Kirkland batted one run in for Dublin and Jaylee Black stole two bases.

This followed a 13-3 loss in their final home game Tuesday, April 16 to Comanche.

Black struck five out, walked four and surrendered 15 hits in seven innings.

Olivia Salyer had three hits in 4 at-bats while Rexchelle Bon had 2 hits in 4 at-bats. Black and Cassidy Adair each drove in one run. The Lady Lions had no errors in the field.

“Although the season didn’t turn out the way we wanted it to I am proud of these group of girls,” said head Dublin softball coach Vanessa Longoria. “We overcame a lot as a team and we improved from the beginning of the season. I’m ready for these girls to put in the work during the offseason and come ready to play next year and have different outcomes.”

“I’m hoping that the girls take the outcomes of this and actually see they are a team that can compete with all the other teams in our district and they come ready to make a name for themselves,” she added.
