Tons of trash

The city of Dublin in conjunction with Waste Connections held its annual city-wide clean up event Saturday, May 11. During the event 38 tons of trash was collected (2 trash trucks and 5 roll offs) and 1.9 tons of metal (2 roll offs full). 24 volunteers aided in the event with 11 of them being city employees who volunteered. City staff stated they were pleased with the turnout and it was the largest event since COVID.

A reporting person advised her disabled son has been missing since last Thursday. Officer made contact with the son’s friend in Stephenville that he works with.

Summer Reading Club kickoff Saturday

The Dublin Public Library will be hosting its kickoff event for Summer Reading Club at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18 with a ribbon cutting and open house to showcase the newly renovated interior, funded by Tocker Foundation, the city of Dublin and STAR Council.

Thursday Club elects new officers

The Dublin Woman’s Thursday Club gathered for their last meeting of the 2023-24 study cycle Thursday, May 9. Rain threatened as members arrived just ahead of heavy rain and brief hail.

City Pool to open Saturday, May 25

The Dublin City Pool will officially open Saturday, May 25. Pool hours are Tuesday noon to 8 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday noon to 5 p.m.

DISD presents awards; hears from teacher on tats

A crowded Dublin ISD Board Room was the scene of Monday, May 13 school board meeting as many year-end awards were presented for students and teachers alike. For those awards see pages A8 and A10.
